UFO Timeline

The Phoenix, Arizona sightings (commonly referred to as “the Phoenix lights”) occurred on 13 March 1997.

 

 

 

 

On 24 March 1997, an alleged UFO sighting/attack occurred over the Howden Moors, near Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. (Commonly referred to as “the Sheffield Incident” and “the Howden Moor Incident”).

 

 

 

On 26 March 1997, a group suicide was discovered, involving 21 women and 18 men, of members of Heaven’s Gate (created by Marshall Herff Applewhite (commonly referred to as “Bo” or “Him”) and Bonnie Lu Nettles (commonly referred to as “Peep” or “Her”)).

 

 

 

 

On 17 June 1997, a cover article of Time magazine reports a poll of adult Americans.
